Fault detection in an interconnected power system using optimal number of phasor measurement unit

<p>Fault identification in a power system is crucial. In recent days, there have been multiple microgrids connected to the system. And if many buses are connected, then need for an increase phasor measurement unit. By using optimization technique, number of unit PMUs can be reduced by placing them optimally. this paper, fault detection algorithm implemented with help particle swarm (PSO) algorithm. The optimal locations identified PSO Here, reduction count and designed MATLAB as model. This done Simulink dashboard block sets. IEEE 9 30 test systems used here analysis tests. bus constructed simulation PMU data taken from blocks. set represent PMU-based system.</p>
